At Do Something Already, our StarLights StarBrights fund is dedicated to helping LGBTQ+ individuals who may  be facing hardships and lack family during the holiday season. We understand that this time can especially difficult, often resulting in feelings of isolation and higher suicide rates among those who grew up in unaccepting environments.

Our goal is to ease these challenges by providing resources that allow LGBTQ+ individuals to celebrate the holidays. By offering financial assistance and support, we aim to dismantle the barriers that contribute to the struggles within our community, creating moments of joy and connection that reflect the spirit of DOING SOMETHING ALREADY.

As the fall and winter holidays approach, we know this time can be particularly challenging for many in our community. StarLights StarBrights Fund will be granting $250 awards to eight (8) LGBTQ+ individuals in Pierce or King County who are experiencing financial difficulties and might not have family to celebrate with, or a support system to lean on.

 

These funds can be used for “Friendsgiving” groceries, holiday gifts, or contributions to chosen family meals. All applicants must be part of the LGBTQIA+ community and demonstrate a need.

• November Submissions close October 29.  Recipients of the fund will be alerted by November 13 – will receive a gift card for funds no later than 7 days later.
   

• December submissions close November 12.  Recipients of the fund will be alerted by November 27 – will receive a gift card for funds no later than 7 days later.
